A short course focussing on 4 techniques for painting different subjects, culminating in an (optional) one day free-to-enter painting competition with "Couleurs d'Aquitaine" in Penne d'Agenais on Sunday 25th August.
One morning a day for 4 days from 20th August - 23rd August.
About the course
We'll produce 4 paintings on 4 mornings in one week from Tuesday 20th August to Friday 23rd August 2024.
We'll paint (may not be in this order):
- Old stone houses
- Water (lakeside) scene
- A landscape
- Architectural detail
During the morning session I will do a short demonstration, then you'll have as much help and guidance as you'd like as you develop your own painting.
As the course runs on a morning you have the option of continuing your painting into the afternoon (untutored) should you wish.
The course is friendly, informal and, I hope, fun.
The main language is English, but if they can forgive my French, I welcome any French speakers.
About the competition
There's also the option to enter a free competition run by the association "Couleurs d'Aquitaine" in Penne d'Agenais on Sunday 25th August.
If you've never tried this before, this is a great way to experience a fun day out with only light-hearted competition. Many other competitors will be amateurs (sometimes families on holiday for instance) and the emphasis is on taking part, rather than winning. I will be there to help you register if you wish.
