Not a lot of time to sketch outdoors as weather cold and windy, but possibly more to come based on photo references.

There can be many reasons why someone may consider commissioning a painting.

  • A memento of a place you have lived
  • A special place with meaning to you
  • A gift
  • A 'House Portrait'
  • A treat to yourself

Whatever the reason, a specially commissioned artwork allows you to choose the ideal scene you would like preserved and the 'feeling' of the painting.

Hopefully by looking at this site, you'll have an idea of my general style of painting and an idea of whether it will appeal to you, or the recipient if it will be a gift.

For more information or to discuss a personal artwork, please contact me for more information.

jon sue

Hi, we're Jon and Sue Sephton and together we run Galerie JS in Monflanquin.

Jon produces the art and Sue helps run the gallery and the administration that goes with it.

We met whist studying in Sunderland in 1985 and have been married now for over 30 years.

We've had a house in Monflanquin since 2004 and recently made the decision to open our own gallery in this great place in south-west France.

Please call in and see us sometime - our opening hours are here >.

Jon

Jon studied art and ceramics as part of an education degree at Sunderland Polytechnic (now the University of Sunderland). He also studied Graphic Design at Newcastle College. Jon left teaching in the mid 1990's to establish a graphic design and illustration business and worked producing advertising, marketing materials and illustrations for local, national and international brands.

Jon has always drawn and painted and sold his work in the UK before moving to France permanently in 2016. Now running Galerie JS in Monflanquin, his work in watercolour, acrylic and oil is in private collections all over the world.

Sue

Sue worked in training and Human Rescources after graduating from Sunderland Polytechnic. After completing her Masters degree, she took the post of Training Manager for Stockton Borough Council where she worked for 20 years.

Seeing an opportunity for a very different lifesyle in 2015, she now helps her husband Jon in the running of Galerie JS.
