One morning a week for eight weeks.
- Always wanted to try drawing, but don’t know where to start or thought you can’t draw?
- Bought some materials, but lack the confidence to get them out of the wrapper?
- Keep telling yourself you’ll ‘get back to art’, but never seem to find the time?
UPDATE: The Tuesday afternoon course is now full, but if you would still like to participate there is the possibility I could run the course on Tuesday mornings as well. If you are interested, please complete the form below or send me an email and I'll let you know if I have sufficient numbers.
Drawing is a skill that can be learnt by anyone with a little practice, encouragement and determination.
If you’re a complete beginner, a previous course member, or you feel you’d like to get back into drawing I am sure this course will help you learn or improve your skills.
The course is run by me, Jon, a working designer, illustrator and artist with over 30 years experience. I am also a (UK) qualified teacher.

The course is friendly, informal and, I hope, fun. There is usually a short presentation or practical demonstration, followed by plenty of time to work at your own pace. There is a progressive structure, so each week aims to introduce different media, subjects and skills to try.
We’ll be working in pencil, graphite, ink and charcoal to give plenty of time to grasp the basics of drawing and try out new materials and techniques.
The main language is English, but if they can forgive my French, I would welcome any French speakers.
Dates & Venue
The course will run for 8 weeks on a Tuesday afternoon from 13:30 to 16:30 with a short break for tea/coffee around 15:00. The course will start on 24/9/2019 and finish on 19/11/2019 (missing a week on the 15/10/19).
The venue will be 29 rue Sainte-Marie, Monflanquin. Tea and coffee will be provided, but if you prefer fruit/herbal teas etc, please bring whatever you prefer.
A basic range of paper and drawing materials will be provided, although many people prefer to bring their own.
Pencils in HB, 3B and 6B, an eraser and A3 size (or larger) drawing paper (not watercolour paper) are the minimum you will need..
To provide a high level of personal attention and to avoid overcrowding, the number of places is limited to 8 people. The cost of the eight week course will be 100€ per person, payable in advance and includes tuition, basic materials, tea/coffee and room hire.
Places will be allocated on a ‘first come, first served’ basis..
To Reserve Your Place
In the event that there are more requests than places, I’ll keep a waiting list.
Please note that sending an email/form doesn’t guarantee a place - I will email you back by return to confirm.
